Jenny Craig has over 25 years of knowledge and experience helping men to lose weight. During this time we've always used the ‘Jen4Men’ strategies … but now we’re talking about them! Jen4Men is a program designed to inspire and guide men on how they can change the habits of a lifetime and reach a healthy weight. It’s tailored to give men the support and education they need to take control of their expanding waistlines.

Jen4Men is about teaching men the skills to be able to lose weight and keep it off for good without sacrificing the foods that guys love. It focuses on the facts of their weight loss and ensures that it is all going to plan.

The Jenny Craig program is designed to help men lose between half to one kilogram each week. Men who weigh more than 100 kilograms can safely lose up to 1% of their body weight per week.
Our goal is to encourage more men to recognise and overcome their weight issues by teaching them the lifelong skills they need to lose weight and keep it off.

What is SkillPower™

SkillPower™ is not just another fad diet - it's a lifestyle change. Our consultants help to establish a healthy relationship with food with our easy-to-follow menus and our delicious and convenient Jenny Craig Cuisine. They’ll motivate you to establish new habits, to make regular physical activity a part of your everyday life, and will provide one-on-one support throughout the weight-loss journey. All the key elements of SkillPower™ are designed to help you change eating and activity habits for good. Jenny Craig focuses on the three key areas critical to effective weight loss and long-term weight management, we call these Food, Body and Mind.

In short, SkillPower™ helps you to build:

  • A Healthy Relationship With Food - FOOD - First, you'll learn how to control your portions, you’ll learn which foods to eat every day for good health, and you’ll also learn how to enjoy the foods you love.  The key is moderation, and we’ll show you how to build these healthy new eating habits with Jenny's delicious pre-prepared meals and easy-to-follow, nutritious menus.
  • An Active Lifestyle - BODY - Second, you'll gradually increase your physical activity.  We’ll look at your lifestyle, your motivation, and your current level of fitness and tailor a plan that suits you.  
  • A Balanced Approach to Living - MIND - Finally, your personal Jenny Craig Consultant will help you stay motivated to maintain the healthy changes you are making.  Stress management and self-care strategies are all integral aspects of our program.

A program designed to fit your needs

Your Program will be designed specifically for you based on your personal ‘eating style’, your current level of physical activity and your weight loss mindset. For example, if you're like many of our male clients who often eat something just because "it's there", you may be an 'Unconscious Eater.' Your personal Jenny Craig Consultant will offer specific strategies to help you avoid over-eating, and personalise your menu to include your favourite foods and beverages in moderation!  Menus are designed to reflect the current nutrition recommendations as outlined in the National Health and Medical Research Council’s Dietary Guidelines. Most importantly, menus include delicious meals for men such as fish and chips, chicken parmigiana and a hearty beef pie!

When it comes to physical activity, we'll help you to build on your current activity level, and offer you strategies based on your individual needs and preferences.  Your Consultant will be there to motivate you when you need it, and guide you with all you need to know.

Effective for continued success

If you currently have an "all or nothing" mindset towards weight loss, you may be happy to learn that it’s not necessary to take drastic measures like eliminating your favourite foods or exercising like crazy. A more moderate approach offered by the Jenny Craig Program can be just as effective for weight loss, but more importantly, it’s more sustainable long term. The Jenny Craig menus are designed with regular meals and snacks to minimise hunger and maximise energy levels. You can also add an unlimited amount of low kilojoule foods including certain fruits, vegetables and kilojoule-free beverages to help you feel satisfied throughout the day. Although we recommend limiting your consumption of alcohol for the most successful results, your Consultant can even work with you to fit a moderate amount of alcohol into your menu.

In today’s world there is easy access to a delicious variety of foods virtually any time and anywhere. Other reasons for eating, outside of hunger, will no doubt kick in on a regular basis: sensory pleasure, sharing, relief of boredom, stress, to avoid doing something else we don't want to do, or just to lift our mood. Humans are hard-wired to eat when food is available, so just eating for pleasure would be reason enough to explain why we eat as much as we do. Add all these other roles for which we use food, and suddenly it's easy to see why so many of us are overweight despite eating mainly healthy food, or at least knowing enough about healthy eating to do so if we choose.

By understanding that being overweight tends to be about our individual relationship with food, about how and why we eat, we can start to understand why we eat more than we should, and do something about it. What most people are missing though, is the knowledge they need to change the lifestyle habits that have led to their weight gain.
